Poems and Song
Lyrics
In addition to being
a top-notch wrestling announcer, Michael is an accomplished poet.
Here are some of his great poems and song lyrics.
"Love"
By K. Michael Porter
1995
We walk along the beach on
this moon-lit summer's night. And as the tide rises slowly, it
washes away the impressions of our lone foot-prints in the
sand.
So easily are they removed,
never to be seen by others who may walk later, as we are now, along
this lonely strip, where the land meets the sea.
So beautiful is the night,
the moon, and the stars, as we stop awhile and gaze into the wonders
of the sky.
And so beautiful are you,
your eyes sparkling, your hair shining, and your face glowing
radiantly with love.
I reach to gently take your
hand in mine and press it softly to my lips, wishing to find the
words to best describe my powerful and everlasting love for
you.
You smile as you, with your
arms, hold me closly to your breast, and tenderly press your lips to
mine, bringing from me the deep and burning fires of
love.
Together, we lay on the
soft and dampness of the sand, in each other's arms, with an embrace
that only those deeply in love, could ever really share.
You gaze into my eyes, and
without a word, you let me know that here, now, on this open strip
of land, is where we were meant to make sweet, gentle
love.
"You"
By K. Michael Porter
1973
With gentle thoughts of
you, I see, Just how much you mean to me. A smile, a laugh, a dream
come true, This is what I see in you.
A tender smile upon your
face. A laugh that no one can replace. A dream come true that's come
along, To take my hand and make me strong.
So with my heart, I give to
you, A part of me, forever true. I say a prayer that you will stay,
And never ever go away.
"Loneliness"
By K. Michael Porter
1974
Softly, so softly, I am
afloat upon the lake, With arms held out, reaching for the beauty
and the warmth of a new-born day.
I feel the cold and
dampness of another dark and empty night as it slips through my
fingers. Into infinity passes another night in which loneliness once
again reigns as my only companion.
Shall this new-born day
find me discovering the presence of one who will know and understand
me? Or shall it once again, deprive me of the joys of giving of
myself to one who also needs?
The hours pass and dusk
arrives, and still no sign of hope or care. And again, darkness
surrounds me and puts me to sleep, alone and afraid.
Will tomorrow bring a
new-found friend into my life and end my pain, And banish from me
forever, my old companion, loneliness?
Only time for sure, will
tell me if I must wait still, for the one who shall free me from
loneliness. Softly, so softly, I am afloat upon the lake.
"Love
Lost"
By K. Michael Porter
1972
I have felt the pain of
love lost, And as I slowly lick the wound, I wonder if it's worth
the pain, To search for love again so soon.
As I'm searching for the
answer, I feel the need within my heart, To once again feel the joy,
That if ends, will tear apart.
To know love is wonderful,
To have someone who'll really care. But the aftermath of love lost,
Is to feel pain beyond compare.
"Feel So Right
Again"
By K. Michael Porter
1985
When the boys from Alabama,
Tell us how it "Feels So Right", Truer words could not be spoken, If
you can hold your baby tight. But when you face those nights alone,
There's nothing to ease the pain. And when you have just memories,
You know that song won't mean the same.
In the middle of a lonely
night, Many thoughts rush through your head. You wish that all the
pain would leave, And let you find new love instead. But some hearts
just won't work that way, And no matter how hard you try, Without
your baby in your arms, You know you'll just break down and
cry.
And you wish that you could
"Feel So Right" again. And find a love that feels just like, The
love you had back then. No matter where you turn, no one seems to
care. You go home to your lonely bed and then, You wish that you
could "Feel So Right" again.
Someday you know you will
recover, From the pain of loneliness. And you'll reach out to
somebody, Who'll give you warmth and tenderness. Then after all the
pain is gone, You can be happy once again. And listen to that
special song, And maybe "Feel So Right" again.
And you wish that you could
"Feel So Right" again. And find a love that feels just like, The
love you had back then. No matter where you turn, no one seems to
care. You go home to your lonely bed and then, You wish that you
could "Feel So Right" again.
"I Love
You"
By K. Michael Porter
1995
I love you.
Three small words with the
knock-out punch of a heavyweight champion, or the heart-tugging
sight of your small child, walking for the first time.
I love you.
With my own heart breaking
each time I see you with someone else. The way you hold him while
dancing, or seeing you touch his leg in that special way.
I love you.
Although you have neither
held nor touched me the way that I have longed. Though I've held you
and touched you that way, with love, never have you
responded.
I love you.
For those moments, few and
far between, when you have allowed me to hold you and kiss you, even
though you were longing to be held in the arms and kissed by the
lips of another.
I love you.
Even though you may be,
even now, in the arms of another, sharing with him the love and
passions of physical ecstasy and emotional needs.
I love you.
Through the hurt I now
suffer, the hurt I have suffered, and the hurt I will suffer, I will
still be there with open arms and an open heart, anytime you need
me, because,
I love you.
"Friends to
Lovers"
By K. Michael Porter
1995
Like a fresh breath of
spring, waking up and finding your arms around my waist and your
head upon my chest, creats a burst of energy that rips through my
body with the intensity of a love that comes along but once in a
lifetime.
With your long, soft hair
cascading down across my chest, a few strands fall gently upon my
face, as I breath in the aroma of perfume and love-scented beads of
perspiration, arousing the senses of my mind and body once
again.
Just a few short hours ago,
fate stepped in, to bring us together as we slipped across the
boundries of friendship to those of lovers, where we experienced the
ultimate of closeness, bonding our special relationship even deeper
and stronger.
And so, like a dream that
becomes a reality, we have come together as one, yet with our
separate entities to live and love as one, but to also live and grow
as individuals, all the while, never to forget that which brought us
together tonight.
"In
Search"
By K. Michael Porter
1972
Now alone, what I must do,
Is to find somebody new. To my love before, I wish no tears, But
happiness throughout the years.
High and low, I walk this
earth, In search of love and of re-birth. I'm sure one day my search
will end, And then my broken heart can mend.
"For the Last
Time"
By K. Michael Porter
1979
Last night we held each
other for the last time. And we made the sweetest love for the last
time. And it almost breaks my heart, That our love's been torn
apart. And that we've been together for the last time.
As you kissed me tenderly
for the last time, We lay in each other's arms for the last time.
And I feel your body there, And I touch you everywhere, And then we
say "I love you" for the last time.
