PROFILE:
Michael Porter was born Kim Michael Porter in Gridley,
California on January 14, 1951 to Louis (Louie) and Geraldine
(Jerry) Porter.
I am currently 56 years of age, SINGLE, about 5' 11"
tall & about 275 lbs. I do NOT smoke! I DON'T do ANY
recreational drugs! I will drink occassionally, but NOT to excess!
OK...of course, there MAY be times that I will have a bit more than
I should...BUT that is a RARE occassion!
I have been in AND around the Professional Wrestling
business for over 36 years now...off and on...INCLUDING 4 & 1/2
years with WWF (World Wrestling Federation), NOW WWE (World
Wrestling Entertainment). I was on the West Coast Ring Crew AND a
House Show Ring Announcer from 1988-1993. I also have been a
Professional Singer-Comedian-Entertainer-Songwriter-Poet-Writer for
ALL of my adult life.
I have written a Pro Wrestling Internet
Column...Michael Porter's WrestleBeat, which started out in a local
(Marysville, CA.) twice-monthly newspaper, The Nor-Cal Paper, then
EVENTUALLY went Nation-Wide and World-Wide, and at one point, grew
to be on over 30 World-Wide Websites. I took a hiatus from the
column late in 2005, due to personal reasons, but I am SERIOUSLY
considering bringing WrestleBeat back to the WORLD once again!
And I have hosted MY brain-child...Michael Porter's
WrestleShoot Radio Show, which was on locally at AM-1410 KMYC in the
Marysville/Yuba City, CA. areas. We were on the air for about 11
months, before Studio Politics and in-fighting took over. And so, I
took WrestleShoot Radio off the air. I STILL HOPE to bring back
WrestleShoot Radio sometime, down the road...in the NEAR future!
I also hosted a short-lived Public Access Television
Show, UWA WrestleShoot TV, which never really took off, due to
circumstances beyond MY control.
Currently, I enjoy going out to my favorite haunt and
watering hole, The Long Branch Saloon, located at 5867 Lindhurst
Ave. in Linda (Marysville), CA. and belting out some KARAOKE tunes
with some of my friends. If YOU live in the Marysville/Yuba
City/Linda/Olivehurst area...COME ON OUT AND JOIN ME at The Long
Branch Saloon!
I also write song lyrics, poetry and short stories in
my spare time. I am currently working on a fictional story
about...WHAT ELSE...Pro Wrestling!
My GENERAL interests include Pro Wrestling, Singing,
Entertaining, Comedy, Major League Baseball (GO YANKEES &
GIANTS!), The National Basketball Association (GO KINGS!) and The
National Football League (GO 49ers!).
My MUSIC interests include just about
ANYTHING...EXCLUDING MOST Rap. I'm into mostly Country,
Country-Rock, '50's -style Rock, Rock-a-Billy and Easy Listening.
In MOVIES, I prefer Comedies, Horror, Sci-Fi, Fantasy,
Action and some Romantic Comedies.
On TELEVISION, I like to watch Pro Wrestling (of
course), Crime Dramas, Situation Comedies, and some Talk and Variety
Shows.
As far as READING goes, I DON'T read many books, but I
usually read the local daily newspaper and some magazines.
My HEROS include New York Yankees Superstar, the late
Mickey Mantle, the late Elvis Presley...who I was fortunate enough
to meet in 1970, The late Pro Wrestling Superstar, "Earthquake" John
Tenta, who lost a two year battle with CANCER in June of 2006. But,
MOST OF ALL, I consider my ULTIMATE HEROS, ALL of the MEN &
WOMEN of OUR Armed Forces, stationed here at home and all around the
world...DEFENDING OUR FREEDOM and trying to bring PEACE &
FREEDOM to ALL!
