A Look at In Focus: Siskiyou Magazine
In Focus: Siskiyou Magazine is a seasonal
television news magazine show that aired on local cable television.
It aired on Northland Cable's Channel 3 in Mt. Shasta from 1995 to 1996
and re-aired in rerun on MCTV 15 public access in southern Siskiyou
County in 2007. It is produced by Action Video Entertainment of Mt.
Shasta and Chico, California, and loosely follows the format of Evening
Magazine and PM Magazine. It now airs currently in reruns on MySpaceTV.
In Focus: Siskiyou Magazine and its co-producer Action
Video Entertainment were acquired in 2005 by longtime radio and TV
personality and producer Mike Summers (now with Sainte Television Group
of Chico). The small production company now has sole rights to the
program.
Just over a decade after the show last aired on Northland Cable,
Mountain Community Television MCTV 15 expressed interest in rebroadcasting
all five original episodes of In Focus on their public access station.
The show began airing on MCTV 15 in January 2007 and plans were in
the works to relaunch the show even since. Shows #3 and #5 were heavily
edited to eliminate past college course announcements, past local
advertising promos and a two-part segment about a college fellowship
group that no longer exists. There's also hope of bringing the show to
broadcast television.
The show's official website was relaunched on New Year's Day, January
1, 2009. The first original episode began airing on MySpaceTV on January
3rd and plans have resumed for a possible return to MCTV 15 with all-new
episodes later in 2009.
