STILL ALIVE AND KICKIN'! fOUND AN OLD FRIEND ONLINE! (12/12/2008):

I was totally shocked when I found the official website and SoundClick profile of someone who I grew up listening to as a kid and actually was a friend of. His name? Dan Whittemore! He released his first album of Christian music back in the mid-1970's and after recording nine albums and one CD, he and his family moved from Castro Valley, California, to Reno, Nevada, where he became the music pastor at Reno Christian Fellowship.

He may not remember me, my family or performing in my home county of Siskiyou in Cali, he is always going to be an inspiration to me with his music. Some of my favorite Christian songs came from Dan, including "Little Bitty Seeds (The Sower Parable)", "Walkin' Sinai", "Closer To You", "He Shines With Glory" and a WHOLE lot more. Today, he's a proud grandfather, he's still pastoring, and is still making music. Though, he doesn't record CD's these days, a new generation is about to be introduced to the inspiring music of the great Dan Whittemore.

His OFFICIAL website is at www.danwhittemore.com and his SoundClick profile can be accessed by clicking here.

MY VIEWS ON AND CHOICE TO VOTE FOR PROPOSITION 8 "ASHAMES" PEOPLE... TOO BAD! (12/10/2008):

I want to thank all the many people who are supporting me in my personal beliefs and views regarding Proposition 8, the initative to place the ban on gay marriage into the state's constitution. And I also wanna thank even my liberal friends who may not agree with me, but who respectfully allow me to express my opinion and views in a classy, non-combative way. We may disagree on how we voted, but we understand that we ALL have a RIGHT to voice our opinion, beliefs and reasons whether we argee or disagree. After all, that's what America is all about.

Yet recently, I was bashed by people who I thought were my friends. A very small minority, I might. They told me that they are "ashamed of me" for voting FOR Proposition 8 and taking a stand. With friends like those, who need enemies. They were outraged and angry about my recent statement, which is actually MY personal choice, saying "I will NOT recognize gay and lesbian couples as married." I had every right to say that, knowing that I may have faced this bashing. While I disagree with the lifestyle choice that gays and lesbians live, I will never judge them. That's for God to do. I just decide personally not to recognize them as married. I do NOT condone the violence that has been perpatrated by those thugs who strongly disagree with the lifestyle. I believe the violence and downright murders of gays and lesbians just because of their lifestyles is inexcusable and they should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. But so should those who attack opponents of gay marriage with physical violence as some have since the passage of this proposition and the overturned Proposition 22, which I also voted for back in 2000.

This small minority called my statement and views "discriminatory", "hurtful", "hateful", "stupid" and even went so far to call me a "bigot". They outta be ashamed of themselves and NOT me. I made my vote, said what I said, can't take it back, but I am not going to conform to their ideals and beliefs just because they disagree with me. Many have come to my defense, including many opponents of Prop. 8 who respectfully disagree with me, and for THAT, I thank you all!!! And for those who are "ashamed" of me, I feel so sorry for you and have three words for ya: DEAL WITH IT!!!

WILL REMAIN IN THE AMERICAN INDEPENDENT PARTY (11/04/2008):
The voters in this country have spoken and they have elected Illinois Democratic Senator Barack Obama the 44th President of the United States tonight. He defeated Arizona Republican Senator John McCain in a predicted landslide. As I had mentioned a few weeks ago, I registered to vote as an American Independent with the possibility of returning to the party I associated with since the Ronald Reagan days. Sadly, the Republican party I once knew is no longer the same. One Republican that I truly fell in love with as a person, as a solid politician, and someone who didn't take crap from anyone... especially the liberal news media and political pundants... and who I believe CAN be the 45th President of the United States is, who else, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. From this day forward, despite being an Independent now, I will back up Gov. Palin in a possible 2012 run for the White House.

But until then, we will wish Senator... uh, President-elect Obama the best of luck as he prepares to be sworn in as the country's first African-American President. I'm not happy about it, but I graciously congratulate him on winning tonight.
